Nebraska Dispute Resolution Act Turns 20 Sunday 9th October 2011 | Emma Robson Nebraska court officials were celebrating last week as the Nebraska Dispute Resolution Act turned 20. The act created regional mediation centres across Nebraska that serve as an alternative to in court conflict resolution.
Nebraska’s mediation centres are non-profit organisations that are funded through court filing fees and client fees. The local law stipulates that no person can be refused for ability to pay, and uses a sliding fee scale depending on the circumstances of the applicants. Since the creation of the mediation centres year on year growth has been exponential. Four years ago they handled 1,765 cases. This has grown in the last year to 3,161 cases. Rate this article:
